Description
The Talbot Hotel is a late Georgian building featuring a broad three-storey and attic design with a six-window front. The exterior is finished in scribed stucco, accented by rusticated quoins, a rusticated ground floor, and a plinth. It has a slate roof with bracket eaves and rubble chimney stacks that are heightened in stock brick. The building includes two slate-hung dormers with ornate bargeboards and casement windows. The windows are mainly small-pane sash glazing, predominantly with 12 panes.
The entrance features a broad doorcase that is offset to the right, complete with a bracket cornice and an iron-railed veranda. This entrance is flanked by panelled pilasters and has outer doors, with half-glazed inner doors. To the left, there is a Tuscan doorcase with a triglyph cornice that is blocked to the front, panelled reveals, and a six-panel door. Additionally, there is a shallow basement opening to the left.
