Description
Dudes & Dames is a later Georgian building with Victorian alterations to No 6. It is three stories high and features a two-window front made of scribed stucco and render, with moulded rusticated quoins on No 6. The building has slate roofs, bracket eaves, and brick chimney stacks. Nos 4 and 8 have small-pane sash windows, while No 4 includes architraves. No 6 boasts ornate architraves with keystones and bracketed cills, along with horned sash windows that lack glazing bars. A central panel on No 6 reads "Masonic Hall" and displays a square and compass symbol. The Victorian shop fronts on Nos 4 and 6 feature a plain pilaster flanking the shop window of No 4, which has keeled colonnettes and a splayed entrance with a half-glazed door, alongside a modern door to the right. No 6 has unusual bracketed end pieces over faceted pilasters, a modern fascia, a six-panel door, and a four-light shop window with large Gothic colonnettes. No 8 has a modern shop front.
