Description
36 Eastgate is a 2-storey building with an attic, featuring an offset 2-window facade made of painted render, some of which is scribed. Number 38 has an end pilaster strip and a cill band. The building has slate roofs, bracket eaves, and brick chimney stacks. There is a shallow blind attic storey beneath the eaves, along with a later pitched roof and slate-hung dormers that have paired sash windows and cusped bargeboards with finials. The first floor has small pane sash windows, with architraves present on No 38. The ground floor shop fronts have Victorian alterations. Number 32 features leaded glazing above its shop window, end pilaster strips, and a glazed stallriser. Number 34 has similar pilasters and a 6-panel door to the right, as seen on No 3. Number 38 is distinguished by reeded Ionic pilasters flanking a blocked entrance to the left and a modern door entrance to the right, along with a bracket cornice, deep entablature, and a broad 3-light window in the center.
