Description
Mynachdy Sant Elias is a house dating from the 18th century, built possibly over rubble foundations with a slate roof. It is a three-storey, three-bay structure. The main entrance features a central six-panelled door, the upper panels glazed, set within a round-headed trellis porch. Twelve-paned sash windows are present in the outer bays, while the attic level has eight-paned casements, although the western attic window has been altered. Blind openings are situated on each floor above the front door. The house has gable stacks, with a larger stack in the west wall. A two-storey, one-bay wing extends to the west, featuring a boarded door within an open porch. A lean-to outshut is attached to the rear of the main range.
Inside, a central stairway leads to the main living rooms on either side, which feature plain axial beams with exposed joists in the left-hand room, and a large principal fireplace. Service rooms are located in the rear wing and outshut. Some original joinery remains, including simply moulded six-panelled doors.
