Description
Pont Pedair-ffordd is a stone bridge featuring four arches, measuring approximately 35 meters long and about 6 meters wide. The arches are high and segmental, constructed with voussoirs that are around 400 millimeters tall. The bridge's piers are distinguished by shallow, broad buttresses that have cutwaters on the upstream side, with additional buttresses and likely remnants of cutwaters on the downstream side. The main masonry is made of local quasi-rubble slate, laid uncoursed, while the parapets, the string course at the base of the parapets, and the copings of the buttresses are crafted from sandstone.
The parapets consist of thin orthostat blocks that taper slightly, featuring a pecked finish. They stand about 800 millimeters high and are approximately 150 millimeters wide at the top, with slight end-piers. On the downstream side, the parapets curve slightly outward at the ends.
