Description
Clynog farmhouse, also known as Celynog, is a 2½-storey building featuring a three-window brick front that has been painted white. It has a slate roof with a tile ridge. The east gable wall is constructed of uncoursed quasi-rubble masonry, while the left side gable wall is slate-hung. The rear wing matches the full height of the front range and may have been rebuilt or refaced at the same time, displaying similar masonry on its east elevation. The main range includes brick chimneys at both ends, and the rear wing has a lateral brick chimney. There is a large low extension at the rear made of blue bricks, while other areas at the back are roughcast.
On the front elevation, the two ground floor windows and three upper windows are of the three-light mullion and transom type, featuring metal opening casements with stays and iron glazing bars. The window openings have segmental brick arches and stone sills. There are three small hipped dormers with two-light small-pane casement windows. The central doorway is set within a 20th-century porch. The west return has two similar two-light mullion and transom windows. On the east side of the house, there is a single small-pane window in the front range, a very tall staircase window at the rear with three rows of 18 panes, and two two-light small-pane mullion windows, all three featuring red brick segmental arches.
