Description
Rhydwhiman Crossing Cottage is a crossing-keeper's cottage built from red brick laid in English bond, featuring a slate flat-eaved roof and a brick stack on the left side wall. The cottage is one storey high and has a gable front. There are 12-pane hornless sash windows on each side of the original tall framed panelled door, which has two panels infilled with chamfered boards. All openings have brick cambered heads, and the gable verges are slightly returned at the feet. The left side wall includes a cambered-headed 12-pane sash window on the right, while the right side wall is slate-hung and has a modern conservatory. The rear of the cottage is similar to the front. Although the interior was not inspected, it is said to have a well-made king-post truss roof.
