Description
Caerhowel Farmhouse is a small farmhouse that has been rendered and features imitation-slate roofs with flat eaves. It has a rebuilt brick chimney located in the valley between the front range and a narrow northwest parallel rear range. The building is two-storey with a symmetrical three-bay front and a hipped roof. On the upper floor, there are two small leaded casement pair windows with iron opening lights, and a blank centre recess. The ground floor includes a long cross-window on each side, both with leaded glazing and iron opening lights, as well as a former central door that has been replaced with a paired casement under a moulded brick pediment supported by corbelled brick brackets. The northeast end wall is made of brick in Flemish bond, with modern lean-to additions, while the southwest end wall is rendered and windowless, featuring one modern metal casement pair in the end wall of the rear range to the left. The rear range is narrower, has a parallel roof that is hipped to the southwest and gabled to the northeast, and contains two leaded casement pairs with iron opening lights. The interior has not been inspected.
