Description
Sutton Farmhouse is a two-storey farmhouse built from coursed rubble stone, featuring a steep hipped roof with flat eaves and tall brick stacks on the side slopes, with the right stack being wider. The building has three bays with a regular facade that includes cambered-headed triple casements with small-paned glazing, thin stone voussoirs, and painted stone sills, with the ground floor windows being taller.
The central doorway is tall and has an overlight above a six-panel door, which is enclosed by a late 19th-century Gothic timber porch. This porch features two tiers of lights with pointed heads and surrounds a pair of half-glazed doors with coloured glass margins. On the right side, there is a central similar three-light window above, a taller similar three-light window to the ground floor left, and a shallow small-paned rectangular hipped bay window to the right. The rear of the farmhouse has two small-paned two-light windows on the first floor and a lower two-storey northeast rear wing with a brick end stack, along with a brick single-storey addition at right angles.
Inside, the kitchen features a wooden food rack suspended from the ceiling. There are six-panel doors and a staircase with straight balusters. The northeast ground floor room has three ceiling beams and a high brick fireplace with a brick arch and a high wooden beam above.
