Description
15-19 Llanfair Road in Newtown is a three-storey brick terrace building constructed in Flemish bond with a cellar. Nos 15 and 16 were originally designed to be back to back. The terrace features a gently pitched new slate roof and a saw-toothed eaves cornice. The deep rectangular brick stacks have been removed from No 15. The second-floor windows have shallow upper sashes with 12 panes, while the first and ground floors have original 16-pane sash windows. All windows feature gauged brick voussoirs, plain reveals, and stone sills. Modern windows have been inserted into the gable end of No 15. The original doorcases are adorned with leaded dripboards on brackets, and the original six-panel doors remain in Nos 15, 16, and 17, with the centre panel of No 17 being glazed. A series of slates is nailed over the dripboard on No 17.
The rear elevations of Nos 15 and 16 have been significantly modernised, while tall small staircase windows still exist on Nos 17 and 19, with the window on No 18 being partly blocked. The rear elevation of No 19 is well preserved. This building is part of a group that includes 15-19 Llanfair Road.
