Description

This is a three-storey and cellar brick terrace, part of a group at 15-19 Llanfair Road, Newtown. The building is constructed with Flemish bond brickwork. Numbers 15 and 16 were originally built as back-to-back properties. It has a gently pitched slate roof with a saw-toothed eaves cornice and deep rectangular brick stacks, though the stack was removed from number 15. The windows are all original; the upper windows have 12 panes, while the first and ground floor windows have 16 panes. They feature gauged brick voussoirs, plain reveals, and stone sills. Modern windows have been inserted into the gable end of number 15. The original doorcases have leaded dripboards supported by brackets, and original six-panel doors remain at numbers 15, 16, and 17 – the central panels of the number 17 door are glazed. A series of slates have been nailed over the dripboard of number 17. The rear elevations have been significantly modernised at numbers 15 and 16, however tall, small staircase windows survive at numbers 17 and 19, with one being partly blocked at number 18. The rear elevation of number 19 is in good condition and retains original features, including gauged brick voussoirs.
