Description
15-19 Llanfair Road is a three-storey brick terrace building from the 19th century, constructed in Flemish bond with a cellar. Nos 15 and 16 were originally built back to back. The terrace features a gently pitched new slate roof with a saw-toothed eaves cornice. Deep rectangular brick stacks were present, but the one from No 15 has been removed. The second-floor windows have shallow upper sashes with 12 panes, while the first and ground floors have 16-pane sashes, all of which are original. The windows have gauged brick voussoirs, plain reveals, and stone sills. Modern windows have been inserted into the gable end of No 15. The original doorcases feature leaded dripboards supported by brackets, and there are original six-panel doors for Nos 15, 16, and 17, with the centre panel of No 17 being glazed. A series of slates is nailed over the dripboard on No 17.
The rear elevations of Nos 15 and 16 have been significantly modernised. However, tall small staircase windows remain intact on Nos 17 and 19, while those on No 18 are partly blocked. The rear elevation of No 19 is well preserved. This group of buildings at 15-19 Llanfair Road is recognized for its architectural significance.
