Description
28 and 29 Crescent Street in Penygloddfa, Newtown, are a pair of early Georgian houses, each three stories tall with a cellar and one window. They feature a plaster front built on a brick structure and have gently pitched new slate roofs. The eaves are deep and boarded, with plain bargeboards. There are new brick stacks on No 29.
The second-floor windows, located below the eaves, have shallow 8-pane sashes, while the first and ground floors have 16-pane sashes. The windows have plain reveals and stone sills, and there are cellar openings below. The doorways are offset to the right and have plain doorcases with dripboards above. The original doors remain, although the upper panels on No 29 have been removed. Additionally, the cambered header arches on No 29 have also been removed. This pair of houses belongs to a group of two.
