Description

These are two early 19th-century, Georgian houses on Crescent Street, Penygloddfa, Newtown. They are a pair of three-storey buildings with cellars, each originally featuring a single window. The front of the houses is plastered over brick. They have gently pitched roofs covered with old slate tiles and deep boarded eaves. Brick stacks are present, with a new cap on the stack of number 26. The upper-floor windows are narrow, eight-pane sashes set below the eaves. Number 26 has sixteen-pane sashes to the first and ground floors, while number 27 has later 19th-century four-pane sashes. Cellar openings are visible below the windows. The doorway is offset to the right of each house, with simple doorcases and dripboards above the doors. The original front door remains at number 26, although its upper panels have been removed; a modern door is present at number 27. The rear windows are arched.
