Description
31 Crescent Street is a three-storey building with a cellar, part of a row that includes Nos 30 and 32 Crescent Street in Penygloddfa, Newtown. The building features one window on each floor. While No 30 is plastered, Nos 31 and 32 are hung with slate from the eaves to the mid-sash level on the ground floor, arranged in regular courses. The roof is gently pitched and covered with old slate, complemented by deep boarded eaves and plain bargeboards. There are brick stacks, with a new cap on No 30. The second-floor windows below the eaves have shallow upper sashes with 12 panes, while the first and ground floor windows have 16-pane sashes. The reveals are plain, and the stone sills are consistent throughout. There are cellar openings below, and the doorways are offset to the right, featuring plain doorcases with gabled hoods supported by brackets. The original doors remain, although the upper panels have been replaced with glass. At the rear elevation, there are three-light casements under the eaves, with cambered header arches below.
