Description
24 and 25 Crescent Street in Penygloddfa, Newtown, are a pair of three-storey houses with cellars, featuring one window each. The front is made of plaster on brick, topped by a gently pitched slate roof, which is new on No 24. The eaves are deep and boarded, and there are plain brick chimney stacks. The second-floor windows below the eaves have shallow eight-pane sashes, while the first and ground floors have sixteen-pane sashes, though No 25 has a modern window on the ground floor. The windows have plain reveals and stone sills, with a cellar opening below. Steps lead up to plain offset doorcases that have rectangular beaded panels and a dripboard above, with No 24's doorcase being unusually tall. Both houses have original six-panel doors, although the upper panels have been replaced with glass. To the right, there is a round-arched tunnel passage entry with an original iron gate. At the rear, the houses feature three-light casement windows with header arches.
