Description
Ty'n-y-llan is a two-unit farmhouse built from uncoursed axe-dressed slate, painted white at the front except for the chimneys. It features a restored slate roof with a tile ridge, and the end chimneys are capped in concrete. At the back, there is a central wing with an end chimney. To the left of the house, there is a range that includes two garages, also made of white-painted stone, with a restored slate roof and boarded doors. On the right side of the house, there is a lean-to.
The front elevation has two windows with a central door, arranged symmetrically but with the windows slightly offset to the right. The two-casement windows have 12 panes each and are nearly the same size; the upper windows are now designed as lean-to roofed through-eaves dormers with slate-hung sides. The lower windows have timber lintels and no sills. The front door is semi-glazed and panelled, set within an open porch that has a slate canopy supported by turned and fluted timber posts.
