Description
Nant-yr-erw-haidd Farmhouse is a farmhouse built from local stone, with the front rendered and painted white, featuring a slate roof and a stone ridge. It has a single axial stone chimney stack topped with weathered stone. The house is two storeys high, displaying a four-window front elevation and a single-window left gable elevation. At the rear, there is a catslide roof, and in the left corner, a wash-house chimney has been raised above eaves level using brick and stone. The front features replaced timber casement windows with stone sills and timber lintels, with the right ground storey window positioned slightly higher than the others. There is a timber boarded door leading to a modern, lightly constructed porch with a slate roof. A datestone is located above the main door.
The farmhouse has a three-unit plan with a lobby entrance. The axial chimney is situated between the left and centre units, with the door and lobby adjacent to it. Inside, there is a large oak bressummer with roll moulding over the fireplace in the central room, which is located north of the main chimney. This room is separated from the north unit by a contemporary post and panel partition, and the chamber joists are stop-chamfered.
