Description

This is a highly ornamental cast and wrought iron gate with piers, painted and gilded, located in the garden at Rug. The open-work cast piers feature quatrefoil decoration and applied rosettes, each topped with a gilded heraldic emblem of a double-headed eagle. The gate itself has enriched top and bottom rails, along with applied gilded wrought iron decoration that includes four linked semi-circles adorned with heraldic motifs.
