Description

17 and 18 Broad Street in Newtown are early 19th century Georgian buildings that form a pair. They are three stories high and have one window each. The buildings are constructed of colourwashed Flemish bond brick and feature a gently pitched new slate roof with deep boarded eaves. There are brick stacks, which are truncated at No 17 and new at No 18. The second floor of No 17 has a shallow six-pane sash window, while the first floor has a twelve-pane sash window. No 18 has Victorian sashes. Both buildings have slightly cambered gauged brick voussoirs, plain reveals, and stone sills. The ground floors feature simple shopfronts.
