28 Broad Street

28 Broad Street is part of a three-storey terrace located at 27-30 Broad Street in Newtown, featuring cellars at the rear. The terrace is constructed from colourwashed Flemish bond brick and has an eight-window facade. It is topped with a gabled slate roof and a lead ridge, with plain eaves and truncated brick stacks at the extreme right.

The second-floor windows have shallow upper sashes with nine panes, while the first-floor windows feature twelve-pane sashes. Notably, the lower sash of the first window on No 27 has had its glazing bars removed and a Victorian sash fitted to the right on No 28. There are dummy windows between Nos 28 and 29, and the windows have gauged brick voussoirs, plain reveals, and stone sills. The ground floor has modern shopfronts. Round arches lead to tunnel passages between Nos 27 and 28, Nos 29 and 30, and at the extreme right of No 30.

The rear of the building is constructed in English garden wall bond, with No 27 retaining its original windows. It features small-paned iron cross windows and similar narrow fixed lights to the left, with cambered header arches. Most of the other windows at the rear are largely modern.
