Description
The Black Boy Hotel is a three-storey building with a four-window façade, constructed in whitewashed Flemish bond. It features bands at the floor levels and raised eaves that create a gently pitched slate roof, complemented by a saw-toothed eaves cornice. A central panelled brick stack with a new cap is present. The second floor has small paned iron casement windows, arranged in two and three light configurations under the eaves. The first floor has similar transomed windows of three lights each, flanking a dummy window with a two light window above the carriageway. All windows have cambered heads and shallow reveals, with modern leaded windows on the ground floor. An open timber porch with a moulded canopy and brick footings leads to a plank door. To the right is a later carriageway with a timber lintel. The gable end and rear elevations are timber framed, featuring square panels with brick nogging, while the upper panels are later additions. There is also a modern extension at the ground floor. Inside, the axial beams are roughly chamfered.
