Description
8 Old Church Street consists of a pair of two-storey houses, numbered 6, 7, and 8, located in Newtown. These houses feature a single window each and have a carriageway with a window above it situated between Nos 6 and 7. The buildings are constructed from English garden wall bond brick and topped with a slate roof that has plain eaves. There are brick stacks with new caps. The first and ground floor windows are fitted with six-pane Victorian sashes, and the window openings have cambered gauged brick voussoirs and plain reveals. The doors are positioned to the left on Nos 7 and 8, while No 6 has its door to the right. Each doorcase includes a dripboard supported by consoles, and there are three-pane rectangular fanlights above panelled doors. The carriageway features a broad depressed arch made of a double row of headers. The property also has good modern gates and small paned casements with cambered header arches at the rear.
