Description
The building is a three-storey, six-window terrace located at the rear of No 14, The Victoria Vaults Public House, and No 16 Broad Street, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It features colourwashed brick construction with a gabled slate roof, lead ridge, and old slates on No 14. The eaves are deep and boarded, with brick stacks that are modern on No 14 and The Victoria Vaults, while No 16 has a truncated projecting stack.
The second-floor windows have shallow sashes, with No 14 displaying an 8-pane design and the others featuring 6 panes. The lower glazing bars have been removed from the formerly 12-pane sashes on The Victoria Vaults and No 16. The ground floor openings have gauged brick voussoirs, plain reveals, and stone sills. No 14 boasts a good 19th-century shopfront with ironwork on a crested dentil cornice and a recessed double doorway between the bays. The Victoria Vaults also has gauged brick voussoirs on its ground floor openings, with a plain doorcase offset to the right and modern windows. No 16 has a modern shopfront with an oversized fascia.
Attached to the rear is a two-storey court from the early to mid-19th century, constructed of brick with gabled slate roofs and deep boarded eaves. The first floor features small paned iron casement windows with shallow reveals and stone sills, while the ground floors have been altered. The court includes a cobbled yard.
