Description
Cromwell Cottage is a fine timber-framed building from the late 16th century or early 17th century, featuring a cross wing on the left side. The front is made of stud and plaster, with two storeys on the left that have projecting bargeboards, and one storey with an attic on the right, which includes paired gabled dormers. The roof is covered with slate, and there is a large rubble chimney stack, heightened in brick, located at the center of the roof, with a lobby entry plan at the former entrance below. There is a second rubble stack with setoffs at the right gable end, along with an arched garden gateway nearby. The building has three windows across the front, with three-light mullioned casements on the left and modern windows on the right. Additionally, there are two boarded doors featuring strapwork hinges.
