Description
Harford House is a late 16th century to early 17th century timber-framed building that has undergone later alterations. It features two storeys and an attic with roughcast walls. The front facing Hereford Street has a gable with bargeboards and a finial on the left side, while the right side has deep boxed-out eaves and slate roofs.
On the first floor, there are three windows, including one pair and one tripartite arrangement, all of which are sashes with thick glazing bars. A small casement window is located in the attic. The building has a projecting shop front with a cantilevered fascia and heavy fluted pilasters.
The elevation facing Station Road includes gabled dormers set in a steep slated roof, a large stone stack at the mid-roof aligned with a set-back in the wall below, and a smaller lateral brick chimney to the right. There is a small door under a hood situated in the angle of the chimney. The rear of the building displays painted studding.
