Description

Riverhall is a timber-framed and plastered building dating from the 16th to 17th centuries, with a cross wing at the north-west end. It was substantially altered and extended in the 18th century when a bay was added to the north-west end. The front façade has a four-window arrangement, while each gable end has two windows. The windows are double-hung sashes with glazing bars. The front door is a six-panel design, set within a wooden doorcase featuring deep reveals, pilasters, and a moulded cornice supported by enriched brackets topped with scrollwork. The roof is tiled, with a modillion eaves cornice that extends around the gable of the cross wing. A rear wing contains a 16th to 17th century chimney stack with four octagonal shafts raised on a square base.
