Description

16 and 18 Ellis Street is a 15th to 16th century timber-framed and plastered building that has been converted into a single tenement. It is positioned at right angles to the street. The southern part of the western front features exposed timber-framing, while the northern end is covered with weatherboarding. The building has two storeys and attics. The windows include a mix of double-hung sashes with glazing bars and casements. The northern section has a six-panel door, with the upper panels being glazed. The roof is tiled and features an original chimney stack at the northern end, which has the stumps of four octagonal shafts on a square base. There is a modern addition on the eastern side, which has a lean-to roof.
