35 Mount Street

35 Mount Street is a building that was likely constructed as a single house in the 17th century and later divided into two separate properties. Until recently, both 34 and 35 Mount Street operated as a farm.

The exterior features render over timber framing, which is exposed on the west gable where it shows square panelled box framing. The front wall appears to have been partially rebuilt in brick, with a plat band visible on No 34. The building has a slate roof with end wall and axial brick stacks. No 34 has a doorway on the right, with renewed casement windows aligned on each floor next to it. No 35 features a central doorway with an architrave and an entablature hood, flanked by small-paned casement windows. The upper windows below the eaves are metal casements.

This building is of special architectural interest as a remodelled early vernacular house and holds particular historical significance as a small farm holding within the town.
