Description
Park Terrace comprises a late 19th-century terrace of three houses. The construction is brick, with terracotta dressings and slate roofs. The end walls feature stacks divided into three shafts with moulded caps. The houses are identically planned, each with a doorway to the right, and a double-pile plan across two storeys with attics. The original four-panelled door has been retained at number 1. Doorways have scalloped terracotta lintels, with a terracotta moulded panel in the string course above. Windows are 12-pane sashes, with terracotta lintels and moulded aprons. Terracotta string courses are present: a plain band over the ground floor, and an acanthus moulding over the first floor. A plain moulding defines the deep eaves. Catslide dormer windows are incorporated into the roof. Cast iron railings on a brick plinth with stone copings enclose the small front gardens. The terrace is notable for being remarkably intact, representing richly detailed late 19th-century town houses that effectively use contemporary materials for decorative detail.
