Description
Park Terrace is a late 19th-century terrace of three houses. The construction is brick with terracotta dressings, topped with slate roofs. The end walls feature stacks divided into three shafts by moulded strips, each topped with a moulded cap.
The houses are identically planned, with doorways located to the right of each property. The plan is double-pile, with two storeys and attics. The original four-panelled door has been retained in number one. Doorways feature scalloped terracotta lintels and a moulded terracotta panel within the string course above. Windows are 12-pane sashes with terracotta lintels and moulded aprons. Terracotta string courses run across the facade: a plain band over the ground floor and an acanthus moulding over the first floor. A plain moulding details the deep eaves. Catslide dormer windows are set into the roof.
Cast iron railings stand on a brick plinth with stone copings, enclosing small front gardens.
The terrace is notable for being remarkably well-preserved, demonstrating a rich and detailed use of contemporary materials to create an excellent decorative effect.
