Description

White Rock NE Range of attached outbuildings is a two-storey structure built on an exposed rubble base and rendered. It features slate roofs that are all gabled with swept eaves, decorative bargeboards, and moulded pendants, except for a hip at the north-west corner. The building has three large square ridge stacks and a tall projecting stack with distinctive long raking shoulders on the gable of the left-hand wing. The windows are two, three, or four-light leaded casements of varying sizes but designed similarly, with thick timber mullions and heavy wrought fittings. The front entrance consists of a heavy plank door flanked by two windows with pilaster surrounds, and a moulded cornice runs along the tops of the windows and around a flat-headed canopy over the entrance.

The outbuildings include an attractive range of stone and timber-framed buildings with slate roofs that extend from the north-east wing, remnants of an older farmstead. There is a detached stone-built granary with a stone gable and steps, along with an adjacent range of timber and brick used for workshops and stores.

Inside, the dining room features exposed beams and joists, an inglenook bay with an inset stone arched fireplace, and a plain wood mantel with small plank cupboards inset above either end. The sitting room has a large panelled and moulded wood fire surround. The property also includes heavy framed plank doors with wrought iron fittings, wood block floors, solid stairs with plain newels and plain turned thick balusters, a moulded handrail, and a moulded closed string.
