Description
Grangeton is a house dating to around 1800, although it may have earlier origins, suggested by its design with a gable facing the road. It is constructed of colourwashed rubble stone with a slate roof. The house is two storeys and an attic, with three bays. A central half-glazed door is flanked by windows which were enlarged in the 20th century. Two small four-paned sash windows remain on the first floor, each with a segmental brick arch. There is a raised gable in the centre of the front, featuring a lunette window. The house has gable stacks. A 19th-century one-storey and attic wing extends to the rear, featuring a blocked door and two 20th-century two-light windows with pecked ashlar jambs and lintels. The property was not accessible during inspection in July 1995.
