Description

This is a cast-iron ‘fish-bellied’ beam bridge over the Montgomeryshire Canal. It features five original beams that support a renewed deck with a plywood soffit. The parapets are made up of timber posts and three rows of modern steel rails. The iron beams rest on splayed brick abutments topped with sandstone copings and padstones. To the south, there are cast iron rebates for stop planks, along with a sandstone block that has an iron ring, likely used for attaching boats. Beyond the bridge, there is a weir with wooden planks that leads down to the west.
