Description

Built of brick with a slate roof. Square in plan with an upper floor containing the dovehouse. The building stands at the end of the 2.5m high garden wall, at about 40m from the house, the wall largely rebuilt. The gazebo or summerhouse has a central pointed arched doorway, formed with half-brick voussoirs, and a timber 'Y'-tracery of wood as an overlight above the springing. On either side, similar pointed openings provide window openings also with 'Y'-tracery, now blocked. On the upper floor, a central pointed opening with flight boxes, probably later, and to either side a shallow blind opening of equal size.

The gazebo is plastered and ceiled and has a chimney breast and fireplace on the rear wall. No access to the upper chamber.
