Description

Glansevern Hall is a 19th-century building constructed of Cefn ashlar with a hipped slate roof that is set back behind a cornice and blocking course. It features yellow brick axial stacks positioned towards the rear. The entrance front consists of two storeys and five bays, with the central three bays highlighted by giant Ionic pilasters. A later-added porch, also Ionic, includes half-columns in antis and coupled columns on either side, supporting a modillion cornice. The porch has paired doors and a glazed lantern roof. The windows are 9 and 12-pane sash types, and there is a moulded cornice and blocking course above.

The south elevation has three bays, with a central full-height shallow bow featuring tripartite sashes on each floor. Slightly set back to the right of the main block is a two-window brick range with sash windows that have gauged brick heads. The north elevation displays a five-window range with both 12 and 9-pane sash windows. At the rear, two shallow wings form a U-plan, with the north wing being in separate occupation and part of it being self-contained.

The interior is designed with principal rooms on either side of a central entrance and stair hall, which features wainscot panelling in a 17th-century style and a cantilevered stone staircase with cast iron balusters from Hazeldine's Foundry. The principal rooms are adorned with foliate plaster cornices and marble fireplaces crafted by Thomas Nutt of London. The former library includes a screen made from traceried panelling sourced from Llangurig Church, while the wall-panelling incorporates elements from Montgomery Church, and the overmantle is from the 17th century.
