Description
4 Church Street is a two-storey building with an attic, featuring lined out render over brick and elements of a timber-framed structure, topped with a slate roof. It has a four-window range. Number 3 retains an early 19th-century shop front with a doorway to the left and a bow window with small panes beneath a continuous fascia supported by heavily scrolled brackets. Number 4 has a late 20th-century shop front. The upper storey has four-pane sash windows with flat arched stuccoed heads, voussoirs, and painted stone sills, along with three gabled dormers in the roof. The building also has rusticated angle quoins and an axial stack, with a 19th or early 20th-century stack added or replaced on the gable facing Temple Row. There is a tripartite window on the first floor of this gable return. Timber framing in square panels is visible in the side and internal partition walls of Number 3.
