Description
Holt Hill is an early to mid-18th century brick house, originally of two storeys. The front elevation is constructed of red brick with a high parapet, which is partly hidden by ivy. Horizontal sandstone string courses run along the first-floor level and below the parapet. Four twelve-pane sash windows are present on the ground floor, with four matching windows on the first floor. The left-hand return gable reveals that the 18th-century refronting is only one room deep along the main facade. A single twelve-pane sash window is visible on the first floor, and a 20th-century door is located on the ground floor. The rear of the building features a double-gabled range which represents part of the original 17th-century house. This section is brick-built, with renewed metal windows and a new slate roof. The interior was not accessible at the time of re-survey in March 1996.
