Description
1 and 2 Holt Hall, including the Peking Garden, is an early 18th-century building that stands two storeys high with a central pediment. The exterior is rendered and painted white, topped with a slate roof. There is a later projecting porch with a flat roof, featuring a lintel made of stone voussoirs. The facade has two wooden bay windows that are symmetrically placed. To the left, there is a 20th-century door that retains its original lintel, also with stone voussoirs and a raised keystone. A string course runs along the first floor, which has four windows: three are centrally placed, and the fourth is to the right, all featuring original lintels with stone voussoirs and raised keystones. The pediment includes two small oeil-de-boef windows and one blocked oeil-de-boef window in the center. Only a partial inspection was possible during the re-survey in March 1996.
