Description

The war memorial was first erected around 1920 to commemorate the First World War. Later, flanking tablets were added to record the names of those who died in the Second World War. The original memorial is constructed from white marble and features a sculpture of a soldier leaning on a rifle, set on a stepped plinth and raised on a pylon. Lead lettering is present on the pylon. The flanking stones are also of white marble and bear leaded lettering.
