Description
Llannerchrugog Hall is a 19th-century building featuring lined-out render over brick, with a stone plinth and angle quoins. It has a projecting modillion cornice and a blocking course, along with a coped gable that includes moulded kneelers on the rear wing and the rear right-hand slope. The slate roof is complemented by end wall stacks. The rear elevation reveals exposed brickwork and has a central lateral stack. A parallel rear wing projects from the rear left-hand corner, while an offset rear right-hand wing is likely an early 19th-century addition.
The main elevation is three storeys high and consists of five bays, with a central entrance. The doorway features three pointed glazed lights with stained glass panels set within a Tuscan portico porch. The flanking windows are 8-pane sashes, with 12-pane sash windows on the first floor and 9-pane windows in the attic storey. The lateral stack at the rear serves a fireplace that is now located in a 20th-century flat-roofed extension, although the scar of an earlier rear wing is still visible above it.
Inside, the entrance hall is tiled and leads to a staircase positioned towards the rear. The top-lit staircase winds around a small well and features spindle balusters and a swept rail, with scrolled tread ends. Decorative plasterwork can be seen forming a cornice that encloses a beam in the ground floor room.
