Description
28 Grosvenor Road is a pair of identical houses built in Flemish bond brickwork with burnt headers, featuring some ashlar dressings and a slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high with a six-window range. Each house has an advanced gable to the left and a shallow lean-to at the angle that houses a porch and paired ground floor windows. The porch has a shallow segmentally arched outer door, angle quoins, and a plain wood fascia that extends across the pair of full-height windows to the right. These windows are segmentally arched casements, separated by rusticated painted stone pilasters. The upper windows are four-pane sashes set in moulded stone architraves, with flat arched entablatures featuring keys and a continuous sill band. Each advanced gable includes a canted bay window with tall casement lights on the ground floor and a Palladian window on the upper storey, also with a continuous sill band. A modillion cornice creates an open pediment at the gable and continues across the right-hand range. The axial stacks retain stepped brick and stone caps.
