Description

The Coach House is a three-storey brick building with a slate roof. The elevation facing King Street features three sections, each divided by narrow recessed rendered bays. Each bay has a six-panelled door that leads to a passage entry, with an eight-pane sash window above. The main blocks between these recessed bays have three segmental arches on the ground floor, with tripartite sash windows (some of which have been renewed) in the outer arches and paired doorways (originally with six-panelled doors, though many have been renewed) in the inner arch. There are cast iron medallions flanking the doorways. The upper windows are twelve-pane sashes with flat arched gauged brick heads, while the attic storey features six-pane windows. The building has a curved corner at Rhosddu Road, which includes a segmental arch on the ground floor above a twelve-pane sash window, followed by a two-window range return with a renewed entrance. Axial stacks are positioned towards the rear. Adjacent to the terrace on the right side of the Rhosddu Road elevation, a former coach house is now also used as offices, featuring inserted lower windows (with the relieving arches of the earlier openings still visible above) and stone-dressed oculi above.
