Description

63 King Street is a brick building with a slate roof, dating from the 18th century. It stands three storeys high. The King Street elevation is divided into three sections of three windows each, separated by narrow, recessed bays. Each recessed bay contains a six-panelled door, providing access to a passage, and an eight-pane sash window above. The main sections between these bays display three segmental arches on the ground floor. Tripartite sash windows, some renewed, are set within the outer arches, while the inner arches originally contained doorways with six-panelled doors, although many of these have been renewed. Decorative cast iron medallions flank the doorways. The upper windows are twelve-pane sashes with flat, arched heads constructed of gauged brick; the attic storey features six-pane windows. The building has a curved corner where it meets Rhosddu Road, featuring a segmental arch over a twelve-pane sash window on the ground floor, followed by a two-window return. A renewed entrance is also present. Axial stacks are located towards the rear of the building. Adjacent to the terrace on the Rhosddu Road elevation, a former coach house, now used as offices, is attached. Lower windows have been inserted into the coach house, while the relieving arches of the original openings remain visible above, and stone-dressed oculi are situated above.
