Description

The boundary wall, gate piers, and gates at Trinity Presbyterian Church of Wales are constructed from red Ruabon brick with stone dressings and slate roofs featuring terracotta crestings, reflecting the Perpendicular style. The church is located at the northeast corner of the site and consists of a nave with aisles and a tower that projects from the west, along with an apsidal projection enclosed by the hall building to the southwest. The entrance is situated at the base of the tower, which is brick in its lower sections and stone in the bell-chamber stage, topped with an embattled parapet and a pyramidal spirelet.

The church has a three-bay aisle with three-light windows, an embattled parapet, and a gable above the higher central window. The tower serves as the fourth bay on the west side, balanced by an additional cross-gabled bay of the aisle to the north. The wide north gable features banded stone and polygonal turrets, with a high-set seven-light window that showcases art nouveau lines in its tracery, where the principal vertical elements extend as pinnacles on either side of the gable apex. The windows throughout the church contain simple stained glass that employs art nouveau motifs.

The main hall is positioned at right angles to the church, southwest of the site, and is illuminated by a five-light traceried window set high in its east wall, along with paired windows at a lower level on either side of a gabled porch. A vestibule and subsidiary rooms are located in a parallel range facing King Street, which features a central gable with a canted bay window, and roofs that slope down on either side over the entrance (to the right) and wood mullioned and transomed windows. Additional rooms are found in asymmetrical rear wings flanking the hall range.

The site is enclosed by a brick wall topped with stone copings, with gate piers that have stone bands and caps. The cast-iron gates include decorative panels that feature art nouveau motifs.
