Description
Canister Cottage is a two-storey cottage built of brick and covered in grey grit render. It features a pyramidal pitched slate roof and a brick dentilated cornice, with a central chimney stack. The cottage retains small-pane 2-light casement windows. The front elevation is symmetrically arranged in three bays, with a blind door in the center and a blind window above it, flanked by two casement windows on either side. The original front doors to the cottages on the left and right are set back from the building line, which is now continued by new hardwood, half-glazed entrance porches. An internal inspection was not possible during the re-survey in December 1995, but it is said to retain some of its original internal character despite changes to the layout.
