Description
The Rossett War Memorial is a late Gothic Revival stone structure. It is set on a plinth made of three stone steps arranged in an octagonal plan, leading up to a square stone base with deeply chamfered corners. The chamfers feature shallow blind tracery panels with a design of three ogee arches stacked one above the other, reflecting the style of the nearby Trevalyn estate houses. The main panels of the memorial hold eight copper panels that display the names of the fallen, with two panels on each side. At the top of the base, there is a merlon-crenellated string course that transitions into inclined stonework leading to the shaft of the memorial. The shaft is designed to resemble the top of a Gothic spire, has an octagonal shape, and is supported on its four chamfered sides by thin angle-stepped buttresses, culminating in a cross at the top.
