Description
Moss Side is a 2-storey house featuring 2 windows, constructed with pebble-dashed walls and a slate roof that has end stacks. The central gabled porch includes a pointed doorway with an infilled overlight and a boarded door. The windows are 4-pane sashes. To the right, there is a lower single-storey wing, likely used as an office, made of coursed rubble with a roof of graded local slate. The front of this wing has a full-height panelled door, while the gable end displays bargeboards and a large 16-pane hornless sash window beneath a hood mould. The rear of the main house, which also has 2 windows, features a central boarded door and 4-pane sash windows in the lower storey. The upper storey windows have small panes in the upper sash and large panes below. A lean-to has been added to the lower left.
Originally, the house consisted of 2 rooms, both with flagstone floors and stone-lintelled fireplaces. A panelled door connects the larger room to the office. When the house was raised, a plain stairway was added in the larger room, opposite the doorway. The shallow rear rooms are at a lower level due to the sloping ground at the back of the house.
