33 Beacon's Hill

33 Beacon's Hill is part of a long staggered terrace of cottages built in the second half of the 19th century, which descends the hill in a broad curve. The terrace includes 13 two-storey cottages, each with one window, arranged mostly as reflected pairs, except for the end units and numbers 25 and 27. Number 11 features an extra ground floor window and has older brickwork at the lower part of its chimney, indicating it may have earlier origins from the second quarter or mid-19th century. The cottages are made of rendered brick and have shared brick chimney stacks, with slate roofs that have tiled ridges. The chimney stacks for numbers 13 and 15 and numbers 21 to 25 are rendered. The roofline is continuous until number 15, where it steps down slightly in blocks of mostly two as the terrace goes down the hill. The doors are recessed and of the late Victorian 4-panel type, with those for numbers 33 and 35 being part-glazed. The doors for numbers 11, 17, 23, 27, 29, 31, and 37 are modern, and number 29 has an additional entrance with a boarded door to the left. The windows are plain, recessed 4-pane sashes with projecting stone sills.
