Description

This is a K6 pattern cast iron telephone call-box, designed by the General Post Office. It features a domed roof and four lunettes with embossed crowns above red lettered opals and ventilation slits. The sides and door have raised surrounds, and the horizontal glazing includes marginal bars. The back of the call-box is against the Old Post Office and displays the maker's plate for McFarlane & Company of Glasgow.
